On Saturday, September 24th, Daikin Decatur helped present the 26th Annual United Way of Morgan County Golf Tournament.

A total of 172 golfers enjoyed perfect weather at the Robert Trent Jones Shoals Courses after a shotgun start.

More than 25 local non-profit agencies in Morgan County will benefit from the impressive sum of $330,000 raised at the tournament.

United Way President Kathleen Ross said this year’s tournament was even more important due to funding cuts from government agencies to non-profits.

“Daikin is so generous, they pay for all the golf, they pay for the food, they pay for everything and all of the donations that are made by their vendors are then donated to United Way of Morgan County,” Ms. Ross said.

Ms. Ross said the total, which does not include employee pledges, will assist organizations throughout the community.

Forrest Keith, Daikin’s General Affairs & Training Manager said, “The Daikin Charity Golf Tournament is one of the many ways we as a company give back to the local community.  Helping fund United Way of Morgan County means helping those in need, which include our community’s most vulnerable and helpless such as children, the elderly, the disabled, and other disadvantaged citizens.”

Many thanks to all of the Daikin employees who volunteered to play or help produce this critical community event.
