Daikin America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries, Ltd., announces the opening of a new production facility for the fluoroelastomer DAI-EL. The plant is located at the Changshu Factory of Daikin Fluorochemicals (China) Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Changshu, Jiangsu). Production commenced in January 2013.

The establishment of this new facility, combined with existing plants in Yodogawa, Japan (Settsu, Osaka Prefecture) and Pierre-Benite, France, will form a global three-base production system that will increase Daikin’s fluoroelastomer production capacity approximately 60%.

DAI-EL G300 series are available both as a base polymer copolymer and a precompound. The G300 series products have an excellent compression set and are ideal for both compression molding and injection molding.

The fluoroelastomer DAI-EL excels at resisting change in shape and maintains its form for a long period of time even when pressure is applied. It has superior heat and oil resistant properties, and when used as parts in applications such as automobile engine rooms, fuel systems, and oil seals, it helps to prevent fuel and oil leaks and reduces environmental impact over time.

Daikin America, Inc., headquartered in Orangeburg, New York, is one of the largest fluoropolymer suppliers in the world. Daikin provides molding resins, fine powders, aqueous dispersions, melt processable fluoropolymers, and fluoroelastomers for many critical applications.

Daikin Industries, Ltd is the world’s leading manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and Japan’s largest manufacturer of fluorochemical products.
