Daikin Institute of Advanced Chemistry and Technology (DAI-ACT) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin America, headquarters in Orangeburg, NY. DAI-ACT was incorporated in the State of Delaware on June 22, 2000. DAI-ACT is Daikin's innovative, virtual R&D facility that acts as the main research center in the U.S. committed to fostering uses and developing the newest technologies in fluorochemicals.

Daikin believes that there are many applications areas for fluorinated products that will be actively investigated and developed in the 21st century. DAI-ACT will initially focus on applications based on surface modifications (SUM) with fluorinated products and developing advanced polymer processes (APP) for fluoropolymers and fluoroelastomers.

DAI-ACT operates by commissioning outside sources such as universities and venture companies by,

1. Supporting projects with materials and technology
2. Supporting projects with finances
3. Establishing a network of scientist, engineers and entrepreneurs dedicated to expanding the use fluorochemicals, fluoropolymers and fluoroelastomers

DAI-ACT welcomes all ideas and contacts for developing new technologies. Please contact us with ideas and requests at,
